RESPONSE READY
First Response Ready (FRR) is an Ontario Professional Fire Fighters Association initiative that helps professional firefighters earn Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) certification. Through online learning, hands-on instruction and scenario-based training, FRR strengthens firefighters’ ability to provide pre-hospital emergency care in the communities they serve.
This Employment Ontario project is funded in part by the Government of Ontario.

PROGRAM SUMMARY
First Response Ready supports firefighters in earning EMR certification through a hybrid training model that combines online learning, in-person instruction and practical scenario-based training. Designed and led by firefighters, the program builds practical resources, confidence and decision-making skills for medical calls.
This is the first step firefighters complete before in-person training
A Shift Training Instructor leads firefighters through hands-on training in their fire hall
VR provides firefighters with experiential learning experiences to deepen knowledge and build strong medical skills to supplement in-person training
Receive Emergency Medical Responder Certification (Canadian Red Cross)
